Ruby has a big new cage!
August 20, 2009

We decided to get her a much larger cage since I'm back teaching fulltime.
This should give her plenty of room to crawl, exercise, play, and entertain herself until I get home.

We had a few setbacks (pulled feathers) when I returned to teaching in August, so we purchased a very roomy cage for Ruby.
She now loves her new cage, watches and sings with PBS during the day when I'm gone, and has adjusted well to the schedule.

On her new play net!!!

Nice feather improvement, Ruby!

That's her second play stand in the background above.

Ruby's feathers continue to grow and she's gradually picking and plucking less and less.

When it's warm enough - she enjoys being outside on her big perch that hangs from an oak tree.

She also loves a specially ordered food -- Dr. Harvey's Perfect Parrot Food.

Plus fruits -- still can't get her to eat veggies!

We also supplement her diet with Harrison's Power Treats.

She loves her spray baths now -- and we add a little Aloe Vera Juice in the winter.
